AbstractIn this paper, we argue that ethnographic techniques such as immersion and simulation, using unfinished versions of products or services, either digital or non-digital ones, conducted in activities which are meaningful for older people (60+), help us include their opinions about and attitudes towards products or services at intermediate stages of their development. We present how we used these techniques in the design of a digital game and a mutualhelp online service with and for older people, and discuss the main lessons learned from these experiences.
